Applying for jobs through an online job board gives you an option to upload a
cover letter along with your Resume. These are not "optional" but a necessary requirement
to stand out from the rest of the applicants. But if you are sending an application via
email, then the e-note is a much better option to showcase your Resume
as the perfect candidate for the position on offer.
The difference between cover letters and e-notes
There are many uses for a formal cover letter, especially when they ask you to address selection criteria. The e-note gives you an opportunity to highlight relevant applicable skills in a shortened format.
